How Long Do You Have to Pay Car Insurance?

The direct answer is: As long as you own a car that you drive. If you don't want to pay insurance, put the car up on milk crates and abandon it.

It depends on how long you'd like'd your car to be insured - car insurance is an option; your not paying it under compulsion. However, it is always better if you have something to rely on should unfortunate event happens.

Maybe not where you live, Kyle, but in PA it is compulsory. You had better not leave home without it.
