ManhattanLife Med Supp

Comments please on rate increase history with this company. I am not seeing any requests for a rate adjustment yet in my state.

I haven't used Manhattan Life. However, I did use Family Life and they are part of Manhattan. It was a clusterf!@k when it came to rate increases. For that reason, I refuse to use Manhattan Life.

I've got Manhattan because I didn't have to contract with them since I had Family Life. I've never used them for that reason...but I think they learned from Family Life and that's why they don't pay full comp on GI like Family Life did.

Been using them as the main company for last 2 years and have no complaints. Increase last year was minimal. They run good promotions, as least AIMC does if contracted through them. Right now are offering $100 bonus on everyone underwritten policy as long as you do 3 in a month and $25.00 for each OE application. Got a $1500 check right before Xmas last year for writing 20 applications with them.

I am contracted with Central United/Family Life/Manhattan Life. I have never written their medicare supplement but did write their cancer and life. If their Med Sup side is like their life/health side they will drive you nuts. There is virtually no communication between the company and the agent. They change products, apps, etc. and do not even bother to let the IAs in the field know about it. Then, when you call the HO, you talk to two people to find out what is happening and get two different answers. They said they were going to start to do better and publish a monthly news letter on the web site.. They published on in August, 2014 and then another in March 2015 which is the one currently on the site.. They have some very loooong months.

AIMC is the other reason I don't deal with ML.

What don't you like about AIMC? I don't deal with them much because they are just another layer between my regular FMO and Manhattan Life. I still direct all questions to my FMO. I order supplies through them sometimes and collect their checks for their promotions they run.
