Shared lead: what is you message.

I actually prefer not to see them. I would estimate I do not see 98% of them...even when they live less than 30 minutes away.

email, fax, mail...

Ok....... I'm gonna have to step back a minute and toss this around in my mind a bit. Obviously I have missed out on a lot in the past 15 years or so.

Sportsnut, I completely agree with you. I'm wasting time nowadays DRIVING from strip mall to strip mall cold calling businesses about Merchant Accounts. Tank and a half of gas per week at $3.59/gallon. Wasted time and money. I gotta figure this method of not seeing clients and being more efficient BEFORE I get my licenses back.

Geez. Where have I been?

You have been the same place I have been, from the sound of it... in technology limbo. I have been away from the biz for nearly 20 yrs, and it was a far different animal back then. I must admit that it is far more fun and efficient with the tools of today, and if one doesn't choose to use them they are a dinnasour in today's mkt.

The problem that I am having is that many of today's tools are techno-savvy, which I am not, and there is a painful learning curve. I am moving fwd ever so slowly... but I will master this new art-form of online selling.

Here's the scary part. I have not left the business since 1980, yet I still have so much to learn about SEO, web design etc...

Fortunately, there are many good sources for stuff like that on this Board and I have been incessantly picking their brains the last few weeks.

In fact, I swear, I saw a small piece of one of their brains on "Bizarre Foods" hosted by that guy named Andrew.

Now...you might ponder... why would I change the direction of my post so quickly. From a serious observation to well....whatever that was.

I don't know. I am not obsessed with brains. In fact, I don't even eat sushi. Well, let me say this, I advise you to stop reading the rest of this post. I warn you...it will be silly, derisive and a complete waste of your time. So leave. Get out now. Go to a different post.

Well, what are you waiting for? Go. Leave.

Good thing is, I'm a former techno-geek. I've designed, built, and maintained websites, as well as databases. It'll still be a pain in the *$$, but I should be able to pick it up. Learning the tools is the first order of the day.

Chumps, in my professional opinion, I would recommend a CAT scan. ASAP!

:):goofy:

Gee, Mark. Why not say you are with the IRS?

I find that works just as well.

Or . . . I am with the health department and we have the results of your HIV test.

There was a guy from back in my Mega days who always said each time he left a message "Hey Bill/Joe/Tom, etc, this is John and I have that stuff you wanted. Call me at home."

That was it, never wavered. He claimed (and he averaged about 10-12 sit down appointments per week so I never doubted him) it was a 60-70% return call rate with men and about 50% with women. They call back and he says (and this was pre-internet lead days so it might even work better now) "Oh Hey ____________, I have that Health Insurance info and rates you were looking for, when should I drop by and review it with you?" I can imagine if this was changed to "Hey, I saw your online request for Healthcare and packaged some rates/info (stuff) for you, are you ready to take a look with me?" it might work OK. A little cheesy, sure but it's all about getting them to call YOU back...be interesting to poll all responders and ask what they thought the "stuff" was!

Bob... it was a joke! I actually prefer to say I'm calling from AMWAY and have some great FREE gifts for them.... but they have to call the 800 number within the next 4 hours to receive them..... I always get a call back.
