The Mail Must Go Through

cold down here too! high of only 68 today, probably going to have to turn the heat on in my car when I leave today...

- 20 F at 9 a.m. CST with a wind chill of -39 F per the radio. [Upper Penn of MI] Sun is shining & they say it will warm up to - 8 F by 1 p.m. today! Time to go snowmobiling or snow skiing as all 10 runs are open today. Schools canceled as it is too cold for the kids.

I think it is about time I tell my wife to get a job in Hawaii. Then we can be on vacation all the time & all the relatives will come visit us:)

Much to the chagrin of the weather forecasters here that were predicting almost end of the world type of storms we only got some rain and a dusting of snow. It is cold, they got that right.

It's about 5 degrees here now. Supposed to get to the 20's tomorrow and then the 30's on Wed. But, they have been so wrong on everything that you can't count on anything the experts say.

Now they want to talk about "wind chill" to make it sound worse than it is. What a bunch of baloney! The ambient temperature is what it is. If it's 5 degrees out then it's still 5 degrees even with a 20 mile per hour wind.

I suppose these wind chill knuckleheads think a bowl of water sitting outside in 35 degree weather will freeze if the wind is blowing?

As for the mail must go through, it doesn't. When we had the ice storm here 5 years ago and power was out county wide for about 10 days, the mail did not run or most of that time. Or you could go to the post office and get your mail if you could figure out what 2 hours of the day they were open.

Everybody knows water freezes at 42 degrees....

I'm the opposite of you JD. If they even say something like, it is 35 degrees but with the windchill it feels like 25, then in my book...it's 25! :twitchy:
