The Mail Must Go Through

The newscasters threw a cup of boiling water in the air out here and it turned to snow/ice mid-air.

You are lucky. It's -13 and feels like -42 here according to twc. We got at least 10 inches of snow. The county just north of me got 16.2 inches so im sure we got close to that too.:swoon:

We are having a heat wave it is now 0 degrees. ;)

----------

Much to the chagrin of the weather forecasters here that were predicting almost end of the world type of storms we only got some rain and a dusting of snow. It is cold, they got that right.

It's about 5 degrees here now. Supposed to get to the 20's tomorrow and then the 30's on Wed. But, they have been so wrong on everything that you can't count on anything the experts say.

Now they want to talk about "wind chill" to make it sound worse than it is. What a bunch of baloney! The ambient temperature is what it is. If it's 5 degrees out then it's still 5 degrees even with a 20 mile per hour wind.

I suppose these wind chill knuckleheads think a bowl of water sitting outside in 35 degree weather will freeze if the wind is blowing?

As for the mail must go through, it doesn't. When we had the ice storm here 5 years ago and power was out county wide for about 10 days, the mail did not run or most of that time. Or you could go to the post office and get your mail if you could figure out what 2 hours of the day they were open.

JD you are right. In this part of the country they really overhyped this storm. There were churches that canceled services yesterday because of the forecast. At church time it was the low forties and rain.

I am not sure about the wind chill thing. I do know last night at 11:30 I took the dogs out, 3 **** sues, and it was pretty dam cold. with my back to the wind it was bearable, looking into the wind was just plain painful. It actually hurt. It was the first time every Kirby took a dump in the middle of the street!

ok it got down to 28 last night here in central FL. and is 35 right now. too dang cold, any Floridian knows that when it drops below 60, it is a true trial and tribulation in this state...

5 degrees at 8:55 this morning. We are looking for warmer temperatures by the end of the day. It is suppose to reach the low 20's.
