Heck, Ebola has multiple variations and they're all named after where they originated from.

Variation/strain has nothing to do with how these were named...except for covid because of politics.

I'm not suggesting any conspiracy, btw. Just being overly sensitive to Chinese feelings by people who are overly sensitive in general, though I'm sure there are some fifth columnists thrown in.

Personally, I preferred "Winnie the Pooh Flu" as an personal insult to Xi.

Really? Ebola has been called Ebola and only Ebola for as long as it's been around. And Ebola isn't a place per se, it's a river. Covid is the name of a strain of the coronavirus because the virus is genetically related to the virus responsible for the SARS outbreak of 2003. I don't recall anybody calling SARs Wuhan or China flu. But more importantly, viruses don't have a nationality or even recognize borders.

His call with Woodward was heard by all. Trump was told how serious it was and that it was even killing children. After words, he told the nation it was just a flu and would be gone in two weeks. But why? Because he didn't want it to affect the economic numbers he was taking credit for, so he ultimately sacrificed 1M+ to protect his ego. He even increased the national debt by 33% in a vain attempt to salvage his presidency, but is now bragging that his DOGE will recover 10% of the national debt he created in the first place.

So my father lives in West Africa (he works there) he was in Guinea during the Ebola outbreak (that Fox News absolutely lost their minds about). You know what he had to do every time he came back to the US? Check in with CDC at the airport, he was provided with a flip phone to check in with the CDC everyday… he was also required to test before coming back to the US.

Imagine trump did even a qtr of that instead of just letting people back in with ZERO ***ing tracing.
