Voice Signature Vs. Paper

Tips from my experience with RNA using Voice Signature.
1. I always qualify the applicant first before I even make the call to POS (point of sale) so there won’t be any confusion. Since we work with Seniors I make sure they understand what will happen on the call. Let applicant know the call will take approximately 25 mins and make sure agent allow enough time to complete call.

2. Applicant can be present with you before making the call, if not 3 –way calls are acceptable as long as the agent gives Important Information Disclosure form to applicant before you make the call.

3. I prefer being with the applicant in person before making the POS call so I can guide them by answering the questions correctly if applicants don’t understand questions asked by interviewer.

4. If a Replacement is involved please have applicant sign and fax to RNA so policy can be issued the same day once POS is completed. If you forget to do this very important step policy won’t be issued until agent fax signed copy of Replacement (the sooner you do this the sooner AGENT GET PAID)!

Voice Signature NOT Available WHEN…
-Translator is needed
-Owner and payor are different from proposed insured
-Paying by check and not EFT
-Writing business in Connecticut  Sorry Connecticut
-Unable to give Important Information Form to applicant prior to interview call
-Taking applications outside interview times
-Splitting commissions and both agents cannot do interview call together

I know everyone has their own preference of how they like to do business to each’s own. Do your thing! Voice Signature happens to be my favorite, not only b/c agents get paid quick, underwriting is not so bad I just make sure my clients qualify, if they don’t move on to the next FE Co.

I don't like it and have no plans to use. RNA has been my number 1 company for 6 years. I've gone on their reward trip 4 times.

I do not have time for these calls. I certainly don't want to write an app and then have them call when I'm not present but that's how I will do it if the person has to be placed with RNA.

Hopefully they will change this process to make the voice sig voluntary. But until, and unless, that happens I will be using other companies for the bulk of my business.

Voice Signature is not required it is voluntary to my understanding. Some agents may choose to use voice sig & others may choose paper. I have done both either way RNA is #1 for my book of business.

If you don't do the voice sig then they will call the client when you are not there. That is never a good plan of action.

RNA used to be number 1 for me. That's changed with this idiotic move.

25 min PHI with FE prospects who have a very short attention span for something that requires self discipline? Errr OK?!?

That line about all agents loving the new Voice Sig because they get paid quickly and they're done with the process when they walk out the door sounds like something I heard from an RNA internal sales support specialist last week. I was transferred to him in frustration after trying to get a PHI expedited on a nightmarish case. I faxed the same paper app 3 different times over the course of 5 biz days + wknd. Efax kept emailing me confirmation that my fax was going through but after several days went by, my prospect nearly flaked because he still hadn't been called for the PHI and wanted to know if he would be accepted.

I particularly enjoyed it when the internal sales guy TOLD me I was the only agent who's had a problem with the new choice of voice sig/paper app. Use your ears and mouth proportionately, dude. I don't care about big advances and fast pay if the process causes my prospects to lose interest or get cold feet. Their materials are still in my trunk BEHIND MY GOLF CLUBS for odd underwriting situations but they aren't even going to be a 2nd tier option for me going forward. Higher rates than almost all of my other options, the whole fraternal thing, the lengthy replacement paperwork and now a giant leap away from being agent friendly.

Apparently he is treated like a wife. You know....only gets told what they want to hear.

I wonder if they have any reps watching this Forum?

They will change when sales are down 25% this year.

:err:

They monitor it very closely. I've gotten texts from RNA office people within minutes of posting something here.

As far as agents loving this new voice sig thingy, that must be the ordered company line?

I talk to a lot of agents and get many emails and texts about this process and requests from those agents for me to relay their concerns to RNA.

I've not heard one good thing about the voice sig. Except of course from RNA management.

I called it an "idiotic" move on their part earlier. On reflection maybe it wasn't idiotic? Maybe their goal is to slow the FE business down? If so then they are getting that with this move. So it could be a smart move on their part? Guess it depends on what outcome they wanted.

That's sad that someone's job is to monitor Anonymous agents on insurance forums.
