Welcome to All of the Marketers Out There

I just thought I would take a minute and say hi and welcome to all of the marketers. It is a pleasure to meet you and have you here on my website. Please stay and enjoy yourself, the crowd can be tough, but your stay can be rewarding if you stick with it. Whether you are an FMO, sell leads, technology, training or otherwise, please know that you are welcome, despite what some people may tell you.

There are lots of people here who think that because something is successful for them, that is the only way anyone can be successful. If you marketers can see past those guys, you might enjoy yourselves.

There are others who feel that the only people who can or should share information are those who have used that same information and executed on those ideas personally. They usually only feel that way about the area in which they have been on the ground and seen success, although not always.

I don't personally share that philosophy, I am fortunate that I don't have that psychological block, and am willing to learn even from those who can't or haven't had success with what they are teaching. Lord knows I have lots of other psychological blind spots that hamper success, but that is not one of them.

The forum rules on posting offers are somewhat nebulous and that is on purpose. The ultimate lens that we use is if we see value to the community. Blatantly spammy or offer-like posts will be removed, except when we don't feel like it. Those rules are also somewhat relaxed when it comes to people who have added value for a long time to the forum, and who continue to do so.

I welcome any marketer or anyone selling something that wants to participate in the community and add value to the discussions. That's what signature space is for, it was designed specifically to allow people to profit off of their participation. Some very lovely companies have been launched off the back of participation in this forum and I anticipate that many others will be launched over time. Others have supplemented very nice companies with added distribution from the forum, by being able to get their "better mousetrap" in front of lots of people in their buying niche.

In an ironic twist, some people who benefit directly from those companies that use the forum to grow are the biggest protesters of the marketers here on the forum.

My job is to aggregate as many insurance agents as I can in one spot, and to draw as much content out of them as I can. That helps the agents who participate by enabling them to share, learn, meet new people and better feed their families. When I execute on that, then it can translate into added revenue to my company.

The fact is that those who market often are very knowledgeable, and are willing to take the time to help people. Sure, it isn't as altruistic as those who do so just because they like to help, but as long as we maintain a good balance, they are adding value in my eye.

If anyone doesn't like the balance of promotions to banter to education, they are welcome to build their own better mousetrap.

Just my 2 cents

It may have been well said but I haven't a clue what it means. Rick

I interpret it as everyone is welcome... Successful agents who share information to help other agents be successful and marketers.

The reader is to determine the value of each. However, if there was a "member of the month" award you would win it hands down this month Rick.

Your ultraistic efforts earlier this week saving unsuspecting agents the pitfalls of purchasing non compliant tele leads from a vendor was very honorable.

This profession is a heck of a way to make a living and it is nice place that offers checks and balances along with vetting here on the forum.

FE agents are a passionate breed of professionals. I have always said that FE agents put the "F" in professional. :)

Where can I get one of those spoons at?

Never understood those who got all picky regarding the forum marketing rules. These same people probably don't realize they are often breaking the law whenever they knock on a door (an ambiguous e-64 lead card wouldn't save you, imo). That is their incentive to come on and share knowledge. It also makes it easier for agents working for the LH's of the world to vet and find a better alternative. The late Frank Stastny was one of the best I've seen on here. He freely shared Knowledge and agents were attracted to his wisdom and signed on. I was one of them. Would Frank and the other pros on here have done and do that if there was nothing in it for them?:nah:

His Medsupp training has helped me immensely and I'm sure many others were aided as well. Imagine if Sam did truly ban the marketers. The forum would get kind of boring fast, wouldn't it? Sam's no dummy and a capitalist who understands incentive. He rightly realizes the marketers drive the action and provide the energy on here, imho.
