Writing 15 policies a week ?

Re: writing 15 policies a week??

Well, I don't need for you to understand, I was merely posting because I had a question......not because I was showing off that I had a ton of free leads....

I cross sell with their products.... instead of obtaining appointments for the type of products they sell, I simply provide what they aren't offering....

Their company has a lead account that basically gives them a certain $ amount of leads every week, and most of these leads are for major medical insurance, and they can do very little with them, unless I get my foot in the door, and then at that point I am able to introduce and cross sell their product as well as my own.

I don't know if these seems elementary or maybe it bit off, but as of now I have networked with 3 big managers for these captive type companies and they feed me a very generous amount of leads.

Re: writing 15 policies a week??

The volume of production has nothing to do with slamming - this is only one's perception. The first year I was in business I was doing over 100 apps/mo with my wife's help (she is an agent also). She mainly did admin, later she did sales as well.

....

So yes - 15/week - no problem. You can do whatever you want - if you reach capacity (I was CLOSE at 100 apps/mo) - HIRE SOMEONE!!! I hired a housewife down the street to come over for 4 hours a day. Why? Why not...

Nothing should stop production, short of major medical problems or death.

It is understanding what your personal capacity is. I do 10 a week, that is my capacity. I've done 65 in a month, never again, until I hire help. It's above my capacity to keep up with. Yes, I can do it one month, but I'm losing track of what I'm doing by the next month.

All that said, production capacity is more about the systems you have in place to support what you do. I used to get tied down at 5 a week, keeping track of everything that had to be submitted, responded to, checked on, signed, resigned, scanned, etc. (remember, I do mostly P&C), that I had to improve my systems so I can do 10 a week comforably.

Can I do more? Sure, but then, I enjoy spending a few extra minutes with my clients shooting the breeze. I enjoy surfing the net everyonce in a while. I attend various networking functions, etc. I even do some of my own prospecting :)

Of course, since you had your wife helping, your 100 a month was 50 a month personal production, or about 12-13 a week. I do believe 2 can do more than twice as much as a single individual can.

Rob - it's not that I can't concieve or imagine 15 policies a week, it's that I don't want the life that I would have if I wrote that many myself every week. If I hire an admin, not a problem at all. And yes, P&C policies tend to have more service than health policies. It's a fact of life, that as a P&C agent, I have to deal with. After I finally move in the next few weeks, I'll be in a position to hire the long needed admin. Buying a house in todays market has been more of a distraction than you might imagine.

Hey Dan,

I wasn't speaking pertaining directly to you and didn't mean it in an insulting manner whatsoever, I know you know what you're doing. I just think people should realize that it's possible with the right system in place, and I know I shouldn't mention systems on here but oh well, LOL.

Re: writing 15 policies a week??

This sounds like horse s--t. I've heard this story before...

LOL I would have to agree

To write 15 a week you would have to talk to around 50-150 prospects if we are talking about indiviudal health.

The best closing rates I am hearing is around 15%.

If you have a higher closing rate than that
I am all about learning how.

My closing rate on indiviudal medical is under 5%
