Another MOJO Dialer Question...

What is a softphone?

It's a software based phone, like x-lite, 3cx has one (not sure what it's called), zoiper, etc. It's basically an application you can use on your computer instead of having an actual landline. Just like with a landline you need a service provider, but that's what a softphone is. Make sense?

How does something like that work?

Iphone apps are fancy webpages.

To make an iphone app that interfaces with their (or any) software, you make someplace for the fancy webpage to send and receive information from (an API), and you display the results on the screen.
Specifically I remember seeing something on mojos iphone app, I think it displays who its calling on screen and makes calls.

MOJO was great while I used them except for the pricing. If you know how or know someone that can set up a server- an old pc with a P4 works fine- you can save a ton of money and have up to 25 agents using it. VICISERVER IS where I'm going. Same thing as MOJO except you're saving $131/ mo per agent

We can set up a Hosted VICIDIAL Quad Core server and support for you at $299/mo for up to 25 agents and set up long distance at 1.2 cents/min billed at 6 second increments for US/48 calls.

You will find difficulty hosting the box in your office. Bandwidth and call quality will be your biggest challenge and will need to upgrade to more reliable ISP services which will also cost you additional money.

Also, VICIDIAL works best with a minimum of 5 concurrent Users/Agents or more (10 is best) for the best results. If you are looking for just yourself, you are better off using x-lite and a spreadsheet with an unlimited dialing plan with a company like Phone.com. VICIDIAL will have too many drops for a single agent unless you set it for manual dial. If you drop more than 3% of the calls, then you will have issues with the FTC compliance

Wow.. lot of wrong going on there.

A properly configured vicidial quad core on a 5/5 can support 35 concurrent connections if the configuration isn't done by a monkey with a hammer.

A p4 with a 1/1 can support up to 10 agents, concurrently, if they aren't recording.

Not to do your job for you, but if you watch htop, and monitor the spike, as long as you're below 70% at the 1 minute "spike" point, you're cool to add more agents, if you reach 80%, you're near capacity.

The second it touches 100% the box crashes. There are many many settings that can be modified to reduce the chance of reaching the 100% mark by decreasing the server load.

Also, if you configure vicidial correctly, you'll have drop basically 1% even while using multiline. However, you have to know how to do it, the out of the box installs configurations are not correct for this type of use.

If you leave it turned on predictive with a single agent you'll drop tons of calls all day.

I guess, point being, if you're going to use a vicidial based system, make sure whoever sets it up knows what they're doing.
