Not an FE guy running FE DM leads.......

I was answering as a final expenses need. Which in my experience can be $500,000.00 or $5,000.00.

On a FE meeting I ask why I am there? If they say something like burial insurance. I ask some questions geared to fact find if there are a couple other immediate needs to be covered then. Mortgage/rent payment or two, transition money and such. If yes, but for a later date I make a note and take care of the FE.

In California, < $10,000 is going to bury you pretty shallow and you really need to die soon. When I started, a burial plan was about $5,000.00, today on an older person you really need to start at $15,000.00 and $5,000.00 for Cremation. For younger seniors maybe $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 depending. That said if a 70 yr old wants $8,000.00 I ask them to sign here and here. I make them a client first.

But to answer your question, depends. If they are wanting a brass band and a flyover but are living on SSI I am probably going to start lower.

I am not the guy to listen to on true FE sales. I poke a little but the true FE guys know their chit. Same as the Annuity guys or estate guys know their stuff. I am life insurance guy.

Taking off the $ and rounding the premium makes the premium look less significant as well. Big (benefit) number V smaller(cost) number.

I had LH guy try to replace me a week or so ago. I saw that they use the good, better, best quote sheet. Do not remember if it is in that order. But that is the reason you put the big number on top most people do not want the "cheap" or lesser value plan.

I have a one pager I used to use when comparing term, ROPterm and permanent. Sold more ROP and blended plans that way.
