Final Expense Riders

I hear you. Between the kids in the pickups riding your bumper and people going 70 mph (or more!) on two lane roads, rural driving can be treacherous. The government says these types of roads are statistically the most dangerous. I just always figured city driving was safer because people can't ever get going fast enough to get hurt!:twitchy:

Another thing to think about is our clientele have children and grandchildren that are more likely to pass from "unintentional injuries" than their richer counterparts. depends on where you are working of course. The leading cause of death for adolescents.....accidents! Below age or 10 or something it's birth defects but accidents are right up there. It's not like it's a huge number or anything but it still is the leading cause.

But I view it like this, if it makes a client feel more comfortable I'll do it.

Edit: it has been awhile since I've looked at the numbers but I read most of this from CDC stats

I find it hard to believe that covering children or grandchildren on the same policy wouldnt increase the chances of making the sale, nor do I find it a gimmick. The person who states that it is a gimmick has probably never experienced the death of a child or grandchild. Same with ADB, I had a cousin pass away last year at the age of 29 in a motorcycle accident. He did not have ADB, and it would of helped his parents due to the extended grieving process, and the time away from work.

Also, related C/GC riders: I looked at some of my own internal figures, and when a C/GC rider was added to a policy the placement rate was in the high 90%'s. For telesales, that's unbeatable.

People that are not educated have trouble understanding anything that contradicts their views and use buzz words with zero backing.

We are all competent sales people and can flip the situation either way. Try offering it as a value add and see if you get a different reaction than the way you're currently presenting it or not even offering it.

When it comes to riders

Other agents will usually come in behind us. If we sold the policy with a rider, they will show a product without a rider and sell it as if it were the same. Since the cost is less, it can be an easy replacement!

on the other hand

We all get prospects with grandchildren running around. I ask them how they feel about insurance on the kids. If they act interested, I sell them the Trans Imm Solutions with the Kids rider, as this type of rider can actually bring value to them, especially if they live in an African American community!

I see value in covering the grandkids. But with their own policy. I write a ton of policies on grand kids.

As fore the price difference on replacements. I sell them more real insurance with the money than riders.

I usually ask them if they wanted real insurance or what they bought. If they are sold on having insurance on the grand kids then I show then a policy on the grand kid.

I had a guy tell me last week when I was replacing a policy loaded with riders, "I need to take of me first". I agree with that.

With Trans if you're one penny off manually figuring that rider(If you use Fex quotes) it's an amendment.I agree with riders. I replace accidental all the time as it makes me "that much cheaper" and people like cheap.
