UHC PDP going non-commissionable 6/1/25

" ...... or they'll be terrible plans next yr "
And then dropped the following year?

And in either case, crosswalked into a very high premium plan?

And the people that don't read their mail will get locked into the very high premium plan for the next year?

We all know what happens when products go non commissions . They'll either jack the premiums huge or non renew the plans . 95% chance you'll have to move that members plan . No different than Anthem coming out last month and said you can't submit any apps by eapps . It basically saying don't write it in a nice way . Most of those plans will be non renewed or they'll be terrible plans next yr
I'm still getting paid on over 100 Aetna PDPs... they stopped allowing commission in 2024 I think? Who remembers which year it was?

For UHC MEDIGAP Commissions, going back to how it was about 8 years ago:

For AARP® Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans insured by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company for applications with applicant signature dates on or after June 4, 2025 with policy effective dates on or after July 1, 2025, the commission rates have been amended for Florida, Maryland, Maine, New Mexico and Wisconsin. For clarification, renewal commissions are increased for years 7-10 and discontinued for years 11+.
8 years ago they didn't pay any commissions past year 6.

Thats correct . I had same thing happen with a carrier in 2024 aep. They stopped writing new business "but kep the plan and commissions for renewals in place". But during this past aep they termed all the people on it . So they honored the renewals for 1 yr then plan gone . Let's see what Aetna does on its plan this aep . But usually when they stop new business into the plan thats not good

Sometimes they cut commissions to make the product better. See WellCare. The Value Script plan was a great value in 2024. Then, on a relative basis, it got even better in 2025.

So cutting commissions isn't necessarily a death spiral for a plan.

Anthem stopped taking e-apps on some plans before the end of October last year. Then, they went non-commission a couple of weeks later. They've never been a big player in my market for MAPD so it wasn't that big of a deal. What they did well with their 2025 MAPD plans was have a couple of high cost medications at $4. Because of that, I enrolled a handful in their plan.

Carriers need to understand that some of us have long memories. You screw us, we will do all we can to not submit business to you anymore.

I'd like to see the financials on the Value Script plan. Especially without the extra money the previous admin threw at them to keep the plans from looking terrible.

So is that extra money for the pdp plans going to be given in 2026? My understanding its not
