Appointment Setting Script

Only on this forum can people ask what someone's script is, then get it, then criticize it. I no fanboy of Shannon, but I know he's written at least around a million in FE business...I think I'd probably take his script and run with it.

None taken. How do you set your appointments?

Haven't in a while, but my script was:

Hello, Edith? Hi Edith this is Josh from the Hoosier Senior Services (pause). I had received the card that you had mailed back to us requesting the info to supplement your $255 government death benefit (pause).

Well, my job is to just get the information to you that you are eligible to receive. I was going to be in your area on tomorrow and I just need to set aside a few minutes to deliver the info to you. What time usually works better for you, mornings or afternoons?

Lol I wish it were that easy. The key is can one seamlessly handle the objections. There's 2 ways to do this business. The First is to get 30-40 leads each and every week and let an appt setter machine gun them and waste 20-30% of them. With many direct mail fixed cost leads in the $28-$32 range including age filters that's expensive for many agents to be wasting them. The second is buy 15-20 leads each and every week and set appts with the cream for Tuesday-Thursday and door knock Monday and Friday. That way you work all your leads. At least starting out many agents must pick the second option.I'd advise any agent starting out to pay up a few $ and get the age 58-78 filter as more of those people will be home to door knock.

He asked for a discussion on scripts. I don't think anyone is banging on him.

For producers that set their own appointments, what script works best for you?

What are the most common objections you hear? What rebuttals do you use to overcome those objections?

I would like to hear how the pro appointment setters handle objections also.

I'm not a fancy fe expert, just an annuity slinger that also works reply cards.

Start with a proven template, understanding that results won't be the same as it'll be delivered with different tonality and pace.

The key is to make small changes over time so that the impact of the changes can be measured and evaluated.

My style works best being direct and quick, but others do well with a more lengthy script. Also it should be obvious to say memorize, don't read it.

What is amazing is that Spur City and MIG Shannon are both in San Antonio. Two heavy duty producers. Must be something in the water in Texas.
