How do you get the new MBI when enrolling client doesn’t have it?

Unfortunately it takes the new medicare number to create that account.

From Medicare.gov create account:

On the SS site you have to "get a benefit verification letter" up on the screen and go to the Medicare Information section. You can find your new Medicare number in that section. (You can look at the letter on the screen, you do not have to print it or request a copy from SS.)
Or you can leave it blank on the app and the company will send a letter for them to fill in their # when they get their card.

I've Noticed that Medicare often won't give the new MBI number out over the phone but are more likely to give the number to someone who is angry, confused, or upset.

I had some lady rip into them over the phone about getting her address wrong last week and they couldnt stop apologizing and offering to give her new number to her.

here's what happened to me this morning- Customer and I called 800-MEDICARE. 1st rep confirmed me and her, and then transferred me to a Tier 2 rep who gave us the MBI- thank goodness.

Exactly. This has worked for me since about a month ago. Prior to that they would say no. If the first line rep balks, ask for a Level 2 rep. They are open 24/7, too.
As was mentioned before, having a MySocialSecurity account gives access to the eligibility letter with the info, if it's a new enrollee, that works. We haven't had long hold times on Medicare, Social Security, yes, but they don't give out the numbers over the phone, Medicare does.

Eligibility letters usually show up within about a week after SS get's your application. This includes "late" Part B enrollment for those who have worked past 65 with EGH.

My clients have used this method for several months now and no problem. Takes about 2 minutes.

If your clients don't have a MySSA account, or have limited computer skills, use the phone and hope it works.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't create an account on the Social Security site to get the MBI # for my client who isn't computer literate?
