Any good stand alone vision or hearing insurance options?

dodge ball ... are you paying all of the premium on your current plan?
Not playing.

You have an opinion. I have an opinion. My wife and I have put our money where our opinion is.

Just don't try to stick everybody with your opinion. As I said some consumers will look at this differently than some agents do. Period.

B.S. buzzard boy ... if you break down the annual premium, waiting periods, co pays and coinsurance not to mention the exclusions and annual benefit max., no way you'll get ahead. Insurance companies LOVE when we sell ancillary products cause they never lose on them. Most times they make out. Sure, if you've got a dental plan or something and 90% of it is paid for by the employer ... who cares, otherwise no. Those are not insurance plans. There is no element of chance. They KNOW what you're going to cost them if you use the discount plan as much as possible and they tailor the benefits / price accordingly.

Some people like the 'idea" of it. "I have a dental / vision plan ..." Especially, if they've, like I said always had a plan paid for by an employer ..." Whatever, enjoy the fantasy ... Not an "opinion" ... it's numbers. "Period." Whata you Gutfeld now ..?

As someone else said, keep it real. I have had more requests for dental and vision plans this past 6 months. I tell clients that I do not have the coverage myself and explain why because it is basically taking money from one pocket and putting it into another unless you have major expenses. You can usually save the premium for dental to cover a filling. However, not everyone is like me, and they are more comfortable having insurance for a back up. I explain it and then follow their lead.

Thank you. I could've added that as a self employed guy I do not have a dental or other discount plan. Of course you let a client make the decision but I think clients respect the fact that we are straight with them on it and that helps us retain them ... it's good business for the client and broker. The carriers are sh*t ... it's just numbers to them. There are no shortage of "brokers" that will sell anything, eat their plate of french fries and have a good night's sleep ... No, we are not going to save the world but we can do right by our people ..?

that is basically my thinking on dental .In the past if it is was someone i knew was hell bent on on getting dental i would help them enroll in a plan even if i wasn't getting paid just to cockblock another agent who they may call who sells dental AND medicare. This year i am selling the UHC dental because there is no waiting period but it mostly a take away sale because the last thing i want is a big book of dental .

Good point ... yeah, once in a while ya gotta do that kinda thing ... it's like with supps ... we've written people on a non comped pdp to go with their medicare supplement to help them and, like you stated in a different, yet "colorful way " ... to keep the crows out of the garden ... ( what's a metaphor ..?) I've seen brokers sell a pdp only because it's comped, it get's back to the insured, and we come in behind to take that supp ... it's not worth it big picture ... I know this broker outta Davie Fl. ... this fer brag'n about how many Aetna dental he wrote ... taken the fam. on a trip to Greece ... have at it ... I can't get motivated that way ...
